more video fun

he's one!

i know, it's hard to believe... it's been a year already. He's accomplished a lot...
1. he loves peas and beets and sweet potatoes and edamame and avocado and zucchini and parsnips and asparagus and carrots and acorn, delicato, butternut, spaghetti, and yellow squashes... not to mention the list of fruits and grains... to include amaranth, buckwheat, grits (which i know aren't really a grain so much as corn...), oats, millet, and and and... the list is long. for someone who didn't start on solids until later in life, he's doing pretty well for himself!
2. he walks all over the place
3. he's got some sharp little chompers... thankfully only 2 at the moment... though it appears there are another 2 on their way in right now.
4. he loves his grandmothers and his aunts and uncles. this shouldn't be any surprise, as he's got a great extended family
5. he's had several haircuts and has rocked blackish, brown and now blonde hair. :)
6. he still has his blue eyes...
7. he still successfully fools me and pees on the carpet nearly every time I let him run around without a diaper, if only for a moment.
8. he loves playing his piano and dancing around to the music.
9. cards that make noise are always a hit. he sits there opening and closing them over and over to make them "sing".
10. he loves to get his hands on either Michael's bike or mine so he can get bike grease on his little fingers so I have to wash his hands multiple times a day just to avoid greasy walls, carpet, furniture, etc. :) ok, so i think he's not trying so much for the grease as much as the shiny bike that has cool moving parts and those wheels and peddles are just facinating...

another milestone...

teeth? are they really coming in? there are sharp little nubs sticking up out of his bottom gum line... not enough to get a pic of, but definitely enough to feel and hear clinking on the glass when he takes a drink. pics coming soon! (hopefully)
pic that's up is from our trip to Great Grandmommy and Great Grandaddy's a few weeks ago... we got to see Aunt Danielle and Uncle John. It was the first time they had seen Caden since Sept. And the first time they'd seen Michael since Caden's birth!

here ya go!

getting ready for the main event

first steps

this was 2 weekends ago when we went up to see Great Grandmommy and Great Grandaddy Sanders. Caden absconded with G-Gmommy's walker. He then proceeded to walk back and forth through the eating area and den. (with a little assistance with furniture avoidence and turning around)

oh, it's short...

So, it was time for a haircut. So we jumped in the tub... with clothes on! The poor boy was so bored, as seen in these "still long hair" pics. :) He was much happier when we were done... he didn't know what to do with all the hair at the bottom of the tub. Think maybe next time we will use a higher guard on the clippers... oh well, it's just hair, it will grow back.

mohie and escape

yes, i know this is way over-due. sorry. i have been taking pics and videos... just haven't had the chance to get them up here. So here we go!

a foray into food

Many of you have been wondering what my little man is up to these days. No, he's not walking just yet. (to which i am very thankful... as he already has me running after him all day!) Instead, we have expanded our foray into the wonderful world of food. As he has some pretty serious foodies in his family (ie Bethany...), we thought he should start early building his palate. So here are a few shots from the recent days...

Yes, beets, peas, apples-n-rice, water w/ slash of prune juice... fun stuff!

walking, well, sorta

It's taken a few days of trying, but check out what the little man is up to now...

much overdue

here ya go, a whole slew of pics from our travels... and this is just the beginning... i'm sorry i didn't take more. hard to hold a baby and take pics at the same time. notice how Great Grandma Smalley has put the little one to sleep... does she have the magic touch or what?
